If it’s Tuesday, it’s San Angelo & Spinach Enchiladas
Posted by: | CommentsHow time flies. Just over a year ago, I wrote this post about my trip into West Texas. Enjoy the look back. —
Diary – Tuesday, July 20
9 AM - Meeting with Pat Attebery, Anchor KLST-TV CBS. Pat is a kind and professional woman. I explained to her that Christian Science practitioners are self-employed healers who devote themselves full time to helping others through prayer. They do not offer counseling, diagnosis, prognosis, or any physical manipulation or treatment, however, they do offer Christian Science treatment (prayerful treatment) — as explained in Mary Baker Eddy’s book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
I read where Arthur Brisbane, a New York journalist back in the 1900′s, once interviewed Eddy. He later told friends, “…it was my privilege to discover one of the keenest intellects I had ever encountered and the most gentle and sweet woman I had ever met. Her very presence was restful to me. During our conversation I mentioned this, telling her how very tired I was. She then asked me if I would like to have a Christian Science treatment and I told her I would. All I can say is that it was a most unbelievably beautiful experience….that treatment proved to me the great need in the world for Christian Science.” Read More→
Brought Down A Mountain By Medics: What is your health care choice?
Posted by: | Comments
“My son was brought down the mountain by medics.”
This statement grabbed my attention last summer. I was in a meeting with Kate Raetz, District Director for State Rep. Susan King, in Abilene. Abbie Randolph, a member of a local church there, attended the meeting, as well. In the meeting, Abbie described her son’s experience after an accident on a ski slope.
She told us that her son had been brought down the mountain and to a hospital. At the hospital, Abbie asked him what form of care he wanted to use – medical care or prayerful/spiritual treatment. Her 18 year old son confidently stated he wanted to use prayer. He chose what he’d found, in the past, to be effective.
The prayerful treatment began. However, at that point, the medical staff wanted Abbie’s son to have an x-ray to see what they were dealing with. However, a doctor said “Wait, the boy is healing up as we speak.” And, indeed, the healing took place quickly. Read More→
“You can’t rewrite the Lord’s Prayer!”

Last week, I visited with Doug Schurtz, Morning Assignment Editor, at Houston’s KTRK-TV ABC Channel 13. I found Doug to be a really genuine guy and a great listener. He showed me the station’s newly refurbished studios and I truly enjoyed our meeting.
While touring the studios and talking with Doug about responsible spiritual care, I suddenly thought about another studio I was in about 5 years ago.
The studio that suddenly came to mind was a radio studio at Times Square in New York City. I had been lecturing in New York and Connecticut, and was scheduled to be interviewed on the Joey Renolds Show. Joey’s show starts at midnight and runs until 5 in the morning. It airs live across the United States. That night, I stepped into the studio at 2 AM. Read More→
5 Simple Things To Help Your Prayer Heal
Posted by: | CommentsAlthough the Christian Science denomination uses the word Christian in its name, many people don’t know it is Bible, Jesus, and prayer based. It is definitely Christian.
Christian Scientists are students of the Bible – Old and New Testaments. Most of them study this book daily, especially the works and words of Jesus. They yearn to emulate Jesus, in some degree, because he said to follow him. They view Jesus as their Way-Shower, their shepherd.
After many years of prayer and study of the Bible, I’ve found 5 simple things that have helped me prepare myself to be a Christian healer. They might help you too. Read More→

High school senior Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick), decides to skip school on a nice spring day by faking an illness to his parents (Lyman Ward and Cindy Pickett), then encourages his girlfriend, Sloane (Mia Sara), and his pessimistic best friend, Cameron (Alan Ruck), to spend the day in Chicago as one of their last flings before they head off to different colleges. –Wikipedia

Prayer is …
Posted by: | CommentsSince today, May 5, is a National Day of Prayer, I thought you’d enjoy this repost. –
- Prayer is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God.
- Prayer is a spiritual understanding of Him.
- Prayer is an unselfed love.
- Prayer is desire.

- Prayer is the fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds.
- Prayer is the longing to be better and holier.
- Prayer is a deep and conscientious protest of Truth — of man’s likeness to God and man’s unity with Truth and Love.
- Prayer is learning to love, and to include all mankind in one affection.
- Prayer is the utilization of the love wherewith He loves us.
- Prayer shows us more clearly than we saw before, what we already have and are, and what God is.
Bin Laden: What do I think? How do I pray?
Posted by: | CommentsHow am I to think about a person who allows himself to be so confused and so filled with hate that he masterminds terroristic activities?
Now that this man has been killed, what do I think? How do I pray?
Do I understand the need for a man to be stopped from harming others? While this is taking place, do I understand the need to continue to pray to see more of everyone’s spiritual nature?
Am I comprehending how the actions and wisdom of good men are directed by the intelligence and goodness of God, even as they put an end to a man’s evil deeds?
Does my love for God govern how I view even the most hated?
Do I yearn to make a man pay? Or do I yearn to pray that God’s goodness be recognized as supreme on earth? Read More→
Texans Healed
Posted by: | Comments- Texas has a rich 130 year history of spiritual healing.
- This is due, in large part, to Christian Science being practiced.
- Christian Science has a proven track record as a responsible, reasonable, and effective method of prayer-based healing.
- It is a patient centered care, — a complete approach to healthcare.
The links below will take you to accounts of healing. Each describes how a Texan has been freed from pain, disease, or danger. The physical changes took place due to spiritual transformations.
I hope you find their stories enlightening and inspiring.

Her boyfriend asked…

Crossing Bridges (Moving thought with a touch of Spirit)
———————————————————-
Our daughter and her boyfriend, David, are celebrating their one-year anniversary this evening.
David was raised in the Mormon faith, and he says there are times that a negative and inaccurate stigma (such as polygamy) can envelope a belief system. As a PhD student in History, he believes in looking for answers to his questions on religion or any other topic by going to trustworthy and verifiable sources — and not hearsay or even news reports — to provide him with accurate and unbiased information.
David has questions about Christian Science and since I practice this faith, I offered to post my answers which may help others too. David’s questions were: “What are Christian Scientist’s views of the medical profession? As well, what were Mary Baker Eddy’s views? Is there an official church policy regarding health care? For those Christian Scientists that believe solely in the healing power of God through prayer, is there a time and place for hospitals and licensed medical doctors?” Read More→
