Energy, Tsunami, and Prayer

By

Today demands action.

“An earthquake (also known as a quake, tremor or temblor) is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth’s crust that creates seismic waves. …At the Earth’s surface, earthquakes manifest themselves by shaking and sometimes displacing the ground. When a large earthquake epicenter is located offshore, the seabed sometimes suffers sufficient displacement to cause a tsunami.” (Wikipedia)

Immediate action is needed from nations and their people to help Japan care for all affected by this morning’s earthquake and resulting tsunami. Behind theses actions, I know, will be the strength of prayer.

There are different types of prayer, but the prayer I’ve seen that brings healing and comfort is a spiritually scientific prayer.

This prayer is a release of energy, mental/spiritual energy. It is where the vigor and spirit of God finds expression. This divine energy never harms, never destroys. It directs the activities of the workers on the scene. It gives them strength and wisdom to help beyond what is believed to be humanly possible. It inspires leaders to work together for the greater good.  It brings healing and comfort to minds and bodies before any human hand is there to help. It erases pain and fosters hope. We could call it a powerful tsunami of goodness.

Prayer can be an unselfish acknowledgement that God loves all He has created and knows how to help and heal. God is never the cause of disasters, He lifts us out of them.

In times like these, we can all help.  We can offer valuable assistance, right now, through prayer.

Thanks for stopping everything to put into words what we all need to hear. We need to help each other stand firm in the face of disaster and overwhelming images that are so mesmerizing. Just reposted this on my own Facebook page.

Thank you very much. I will put this on my FB page too.

Keith: thanks for the spiritually scientific prayer. I love this practical affirmation:
“This prayer is a release of energy, mental/spiritual energy. It is where the vigor and spirit of God finds expression.”

  4. Pam says:

God is the substance of our consciousness, our being, our lives. He did not create evil to befall His children. God is not in the water, the waves, the seeming destruction. He is in the midst of us, in our hearts. Not by mortal understanding, but by God, we have in our hearts the wisdom and knowledge of all good God has given to us. This allows us to know that all of God’s children are safe, secure, loved and cared for even in the face of error’s lies.

  5. Stephen Pierce says:

A Japanese guy said to me near the train station this morning: “We need that you guys pray in the way we pray and not in the way that you pray” But at the end of the conversation we both exchanged each others our own prayers. “The Lord’s prayer” and “Myo ho ren ge kyo.”

    Stephen.

[Stephen, Thanks for sharing. I like it that all our prayers are motived by God Himself. "Prayer is the utilization of the love wherewith He [God] loves us.” (Mary Baker Eddy)
